Founded in 2012 Skin Analytics are a research-led company committed to helping more people to survive skin cancer.
We are a UK-based multiple award-winning digital health company that has launched the world’s first AI-powered Skin Cancer pathway for a faster skin cancer diagnosis. Our AI technology, DERM, is the engine that powers all our pathways. It can be accessed from a smartphone at a GP’s office for a second opinion in two minutes or be powering a skin cancer service in hospitals to drastically cut down waiting lists.
Let that sink in for a moment - in a world where it could take up to 6-8 months to get a diagnosis for skin cancer, our technology is helping us inch closer to the world where a patient could instantly know the right next step for their concern and get to a diagnosis as quickly as in a couple of weeks. Every year 470,000 patients are placed on the ‘Urgent 2 week wait’ treatment pathway to find only 16,000 melanoma. Demand is growing while capacity is not. Skin Analytics have provided teledermatology services for over 5 years. In April 2020 we launched the first AI-supported Teledermatology service at University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust using DERM. Our services help reduce the need for unnecessary secondary care referrals.

DERM, our unique AI technology, supports clinicians in the assessment of skin lesions. These range from malignant and pre-malignant lesions that can be treated if assessed early enough, through to benign lesions where patients can be discharged or referred for further monitoring. The Skin Analytics system also enables localdermatologists to review referred cases remotely, allowing them to direct patients to the best assessment or treatment option.
